For the dogs

You are welcome in all shapes and sizes in ones or by the score
on arrival you will receive a welcome pack just like your human friends, including things like dried tripe and sausage, biscuits and a toy (if you, like your human friends, enjoy a drink such as beer then please ask! we had a dog called Jones who used to visit the pub on his own so we know some of you enjoy a tipple, in moderation of course).
You are able to go where ever you want in the gite, in the bedrooms, sitting room, kitchen and bathrooms however, drinking from the loo is banned so humans please do put the seat back down.
You are allowed to have a bath or shower when needed, special shampoo and towels are provided for you just like your human friends.
When sleeping on the beds or sofas we ask you to be careful and try not to damage the bedding or covers - just relax, chill, and enjoy.
In the kitchen you will find food and water bowls along with caps to cover your open food tins etc. Water bowls are also found in the garden and veranda but these you must share with the other animals like the chickens who in summer really need a drink as they go about their daily routine.
We have also put in beds and dog blankets for you to use if you so desire because your human friends do not always have room to pack all the home comforts you are used to.
You are free to roam around the separate two thousand square metre garden without a lead but please do not chase the chickens, ducks and other wildlife that will be sharing it with you or you will have to put one on to keep them safe, unfortunately dogs in the past have killed some of our feathered friends. Swimming in the pond is permitted but remember the consequences of being towelled down after (some like it, some do not).
If you wish you are able to stay in the house on your own while the humans see the sights or perhaps come for a walk with us and our Dogs if you think that would be fun, because it can get very hot here in the summer and it is not nice to have to stay in the car.
Talking of walks, there are off the lead walks right outside the gates along the secluded lanes. Or perhaps along the marked walks that are shown in the information sheets in the Gite, the ‘green line’ is great; it’s an old disused railway with lots to see and smell. You will find torches in the kitchen for your humans to carry at night so they do not fall over - we all know you don’t really need them you can see in the dark.
We stock treats and some dog foods but if you require anything special getting in before you arrive we will do our best to accommodate your request.
If you are caught short whilst out as sometimes happens poo bags are supplied and a bin for them is by the gate.
Finally ….the dreaded Vet. We can make a booking for you at our local vet so you can get your passport stamped bewteen 24 & 48 hours before you leave the country we like you to be all legal and above board, avoiding a lengthy stay in quarantine, they are very friendly and some speak English although this cannot be guaranteed but they all speak dog and would never do anything to hurt you.
Any doggie thoughts you may have by way of suggestions are always welcome just like you!
